Barry’s career in the glass and glazing industry began in the spring of 1995 when he answered an Ad for a warehouse position at Sommer and Maca Industries. During his four years at Somaca he learned the business from the bottom up. Barry’s time spent in the warehouse taught him about the various products and their uses, as well as aiding customers and collaborating with vendors. Barry was a quick study and was promoted to an Outside Sales Position servicing the Los Angeles region, where he excelled and formed lasting relationships with customers and vendors alike.
In 1999, Barry was ready for his next challenge and went to work for C.R. Laurence as Director of Commercial Hardware. Over the next 20 years, Barry was involved developing the brand, managing projects both large and small, working with engineering, manufacturing personnel, and vendors to develop new products, and provide the industry with a “one-stop” shop. Barry’s effective communication skills and knowledge has helped him to form relationships and be known within the glass and glazing industry.
After 24 years, Barry saw an opportunity to help build a new company from the ground up. This privately owned, American based company is FHC Frameless Hardware Company LLC. Barry is extremely proud to be part of FHC, with a mission that is built upon the core principles of customer service, product innovation, and entrepreneurship.
